DACRE 06A - Dacre Bear at St. Andrew's Church
Dacre Bear, St Andrew's Church, Dacre in Cumbria, UK.
This is one of four medieval stone bears that stand at each corner of the churchyard. Little is known of their origin but they are believed to tell a story of a shackled sleeping bear that was attacked by a cat. Here, the bear is attacked by the cat.
