HARTSOP 15A - Distant aerial view of Hayeswater
A distant aerial view of Hayeswater Gill and Hayswater near Patterdale in the Lake District, Cumbria.
Hayeswater nestles between The Knott and High Street to the east and Gray Crag to the west. It was a natural tarn that was dammed in 1908, creating a reservoir to provide water for Penrith. The dam has recently been removed and the water is once again just a corrie tarn.
