The 1868 water trough, Kirkby Lonsdale, Cumbria.
Water troughs used to be an essential feature for the carter and his horse.
The inscription reads, 'ERECTED BY PUBLIC SUBSCRIPTION GRATEFULLY TO RECORD THE RESTORATION OF THE PARISH CHURCH KIRKBY LONSDALE BY LORD KENLIS A.D. 1868'
