A lovely woodland and lakeside ramble to St. Bega's Chapel.
6.5 miles: Moderate
This lovely ramble begins with a stroll through the tall firs in Dodd Wood (home to red squirrels) and ends with a lakeside return where, during the summer months you may see an osprey. This beautiful walk passes the stately home, Mirehouse and the ancient lakeside chapel of St. Bega's that inspired Tennyson to write about the death of King Arthur.
